ATLANTA - Furious their romance was ending, a 78-year-old great-grandmother shot her 85-year-old ex-beau dead as he read the newspaper in a senior citizens home, police said.

“I did it and I’d do it again!” Lena Driskell yelled to officers who arrived at the home June 10, testimony showed. Police said Driskell was wearing a bathrobe and slippers, waving an antique handgun with her finger still on the trigger.

She is accused of plotting the shooting of Herman Winslow because she was angry their yearlong romance was ending and he had found another companion.

London - A group of drama students in England gave their university lecturer an ovation after watching her perform naked as part of a solo performing arts show on lap dancing.

Professor Cathy MacGregor, who holds a doctorate in drama and feminist theory, used her personal experiences working as a lap dancer in America to develop her controversial 50-minute stage show about the world of a striptease artist.

A cobbler suspected of sorcery was attacked and nearly lynched by outraged villagers in central Kenya on Tuesday after being caught having sex with a female sheep, witnesses and officials said.

Joshua Kiplagat (36) sustained a serious head wound when the sheep’s owner threw a machete at him after finding him being engaged in sexual acts with a prize ewe in the Rift Valley district of Bomet, they said.

Police in New Zealand broke down the door to an Auckland home after receiving an emergency call from the building, only to find that the call had apparently been made by the resident cat.

It seems Tabby the cat had rung the 111 emergency number while taking a stroll across a telephone attached to a fax machine in the house.

The family living in the house was out at the time.
