I told my kids they would remember that day later in life and will tell their kids they remember the day steve Irwin died. They asked my why when i wasn’t a fan that I was sad to hear he had dies. His shows were too much for me, but he was a true concervationist. Who didn’t make a big deal about how much he has actually done not only here, but overseas to preserve wildlife habitats. He was a man who had no problem showing the world he passionatly loved his family, wildlife, and his work in that order. My sympathy to his wife and kids, a dad like that is one in a million.

It is a true shame that he died while filming an animal that has apparently only killed 2 other Australians before in history, he was truly unlucky and he will be sorely missed.

I guess he took many small risks over the years, and this happened to be the one that got him. Sad to see him pass on.

To be more honest, it was really only his continual use of “crikey” and the somewhat over-enthusiasm that annoyed me. Other than that, very good bloke. And he was very good at what he did, as you say.

Stingray Barb Punctured his chest and he had a heart seizure, whether it punctured his heart or not has not been disclosed.

I personally liked the guy, he was very good at getting his point across, and only someone so daring would be able to do what he does, bringing the animals extremely close to the viewer, and not pussyfooting around with a massive lens hiding in a jeep like most of them do.

It is a true shame that he died while filming an animal that has apparently only killed 2 other Australians before in history, he was truly unlucky and he will be sorely missed.
