Phone Scams

We have noticed an influx of users coming here from google searches related to the DC Phone Scam we have been following.

To help these users find the information they are after we have concocted this temporary page which covers many of the differant phone scams that the 4 Wise Monkeys have been following.

If you feel you can contribute something to our efforts then please don’t hesitate to stop by our forums (click here for link). We love peoples help (we also have some ways in there that you can help) as well as their support.

We are also working with the Youth Enterprise Legal Centre which has discovered a number of breaches of the scam act which we can hopefully use to bring DC Marketing to justice.

You can keep up to date all the latest happening on this by using Codingo’s RSS Alerter (written by skelm of 4 Wise Monkeys) Click here for more information.

  6. [...] On Skit’s blog and 4 Wise Monkeys there are good coverage on this scam, including the numbers that you can block. However I wonder how effective it is to block those numbers, as it is cheap to dump your blacklisted DID and get another one. [...]

  7. [...] So, I was idling on irc as I normally do, when someone pasted a link to http://www.4wisemonkeys.com/dc-phone-scam/ . It seems there’s be a fair number of other people who have had this company prank call their mobile phones to scam them into calling a 1-900 number ( which of course is stupidly expensive ) claiming they have won a prize.
