DC Marketing Statistics #1

Thanks to all the people that have contributed to this website with their comments and rants on DC Marketing… I have been going through the comments and come up with this chart which carriers are receiving the most phone calls.

We are also planning to go through the comments and generate some stats which reflect which number is making the most phone calls.

Enjoy!

Additionally I have also updated the DC Marketing page to help keep everyone up to date at a glanace :)

  2. [...] I have noticed that a number of websites have started linking back to the statistics charts that we generated in the beginning of May 2006. Due to their popularity I have updated the statistics and also generated another pie chart which shows which phone numbers are the most active (based off hits coming from various google searches). You can view both of these charts on the DC Marketing page. [...]

  3. Dear community at 4wisemonkeys,
we have been following the discussion on this forum for a while now and feel forced to post something ourselves to add to the discussion.
Our offer is very clear, and appreciated by a lot of consumers, as our huge customer base in our ringtone club and our word game shows. Following TISSC and ACCC regulations (who have carefully assessed the service), consumers are informed properly about the offer before they pay around $13,80 for the 190 call - to receive a package of $40 mobile content. THis consists of latest chart hit ringtones, wallpapers, and also “classics”, and the consumer can select his own choice.
There are no hidden charges or fees, there is extensive information on the website - which is clearly mentioned also before any 190 charges apply. THe consumer MUSt confirm the 190 charges and the acceptance of the offer by dialling 0. Noone is tricked into anything.
If consumers are unable to receive their items or are unhappy, we have a very generous refund policy. You will not come across a single consumer who has been disappointed by our Email customer service.
Before consumers start to play the word game, they get an extra infoline on 0283030320. Feel free to listen to it.

Different to other telemarketing concepts, people call our service at a time that is convenient to them, and they are not interrupted while having dinner, or getting their kids to bed.

On calling back, customers can listen to our pre-recorded marketing message
If customers do not like our offer, they can simply hang up.

This telemarketing concept has not been invented by DC Marketing, and is in fact common procedure in many European countries. DC Marketing is also not the only company using it in Australia.

Probably due to the efforts of Mr Munn and the other opinion leaders on this site, the ACCC has recently re-assessed the service. All issues raised - e.g. the list of prize winners, refunded call costs etc. - have been properly addressed. There is nothing illegal with the DC Marketing campaign. It adresses people who want to have some fun playing a game of skill, and it is a promotion for our ringtone club. Therefore, DC Marketing already sent out free mobile content with a total value of more than $800,000. We have many positive customer reactions, and are happy to have successfully launched our SMS services in this country.
We invite all people on this forum to test our services, and address our company on e.g. info@vrpan.com. If you are then still unhappy, feel free to release the anger. We just think it is rather unusual to judge a service before trying it.

    Kind regards

  4. I. Gruber,
I appreciate you actually responding to this discussion/forum.

My one remaining question (as you seem to have answer most asked)..
where did you get my (and everyone elses) numbers from?

This is my only real query/concern which it doesnt seem you have touched on in your response.

    Regards,

    J. Webb

  5. I rang and talked to Peter Pichler. He told me that the numbers are randomly generated.

  6. To Mr. I Gruber,

I appreciate your attempt to justify your actions, although the main issue people are having is the way you are getting hold of our mobile numbers. I have a mobile number for emergencies or calls of some importance e.g. to be contacted if my children or family have been hurt etc. when parents recieve calls from numbers they don’t know they automatically start to worry about what has happened. please consider the anxiousness you are creating by assuming you have the right to abuse the system, and toy with peoples sense of security.

  7. They are lying about auto generation of numbers. I and my girlfriend have almost Identical phone numbers with Telstra with the exception of the last three numbers, mine is lower than hers, and within 10-15 seconds one goes first and then the other. Maybe he should say they are randomly gererated consecutively the bloody worm. If this happens to us again at 7am on a public holiday I will see the bastards in court, I’ve had enough, and yes I’ve already reported it to the relitive authorities. Oh and for every one else, keep record of the time and day of the call, all direct marketers are required to abide by their regulatary authority as far as times and days they can call, check with your local authorities on this. And if the bastards want to contest what I said about autodialling, I have the phone records to prove it…bring it on.
