Contact DC Marketing here is the information
We are getting lots of comments, and e-mails from everyone regarding DC Marketing. Looking around most major forums and bulletin boards it appears almost everyone wants some contact information for DC Marketing.
We would like to assist the public in contacting DC Marketing by publishing some information that is readily available within the public domain. At the time of posting all of this information was easily obtainable by performing a whois on each of the DC Domains (http://dc-marketing.net, http://vrpan.com, http://tcmarketing.de) or by searching through the content on the three websites. We have contacted DC Marketing and advised them of this and hopefully they have used a service like PrivacyPost to now hide this information.

I can understand your concern about releasing the information to the public but I would verymuch appreciate it if you could email this information to me. I wouldent mind talking with the manager about this.

DaN you will find that they are not really willing to talk about the subject in any matter at all.
The easiest way to collect the information is to do a WHOIS search on the domains, eg http://whois.domaintools.com/vrpan.com

Hi guys,
I got spammed by the mobile number 0433 010725 three times now with SMS crap. I am quite sure it is the Australian number of their director. A friend of mine got spammed by the same number. We both lodged a complaint. Thanks for the links.

Hello Bloggers
Reading through this blog, I see a lot of populist statements especially by Skelm. I read the letter form DC Marketing posted on this site, and wonder why it is called a legal threat? To me it reads like “We do not plan to take legal action”… Also the whole “getting personal” section seems quite questionable to me. If you accuse a company of spamming, you should also at least avoid doing it yourself shouldn’t you? I share the concerns of an early posting on this site, that our mail addresses here are sold. I sent a post about 2months ago under a different name, and since then I received all kinds of email offers I never asked for.Regards

@Kearns:
Firstly, don’t make a post using all caps - It’s a bitch to retype.“Getting Personal” section: Beleive it or not, that doesn’t bother me.. All we are doing is reporting on what is happening, on day on receiving 25 SMS messages from people playing DC’s wordgame isn’t something I enjoy - and I still receive a couple per day.
“Legal Theat”: Simple we read it as, “We don’t plan to take legal action, but we will if this keeps up”.
If you feel we are using your email addresses for our own gain, plase read through our Privacy Policy, and if you still have concerns - report us. We have nothing to hide.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and we respect yours.

please do so.
just appriciate what this group of people are doing for australia and leave it at that.

I notice that the contact number for DC Marketing is disconnected (0)2 9238 6884 - do you have a new one?
May 23rd, 2006 at 2:08 pm -
Thak you for keeping the list of numbers that this scam is using up to date.
We have had a problem getting our mobile phone providers to act on this scam. We deal wih each of the big 3 and each of them have asked us to get individual users to make individual complaints!
As most of our phones are Nokia 6xxx series handsets which have GPRS for access to the internet we have just set up a website that anyone could connect to and download contacts that will identify all of the numbers you currently have listed as SPAM. They can then add these to create a No-Ring Contact Group and use the Empty ring tone which is also on the website to use as the ring tome for that caller group.May 23rd, 2006 at 3:35 pm -
I went to the offices of DC marketing and was told that Peter Pichler was not in, and was given his mobile number. I rang him and said I wanted a refund on the money spent calling the spammed phonenumber. He said to email refund@vrpan.com asking for the money. He also told me that the numbers are randomly generated -which goes against other information that the numbers were bought.
If you would like to call to discuss any issues Peter’s number is 0406864042May 25th, 2006 at 7:39 am -
I tried all the numbers. the 0406864042 is some shit about an erotic chat. The office number is disconnected. THe fax number also doesn’t work.
Most of the numbers of DC Marketing listed here don’t work either. I tried 03 9540 5189. Dead. 02 8404 2213. Dead. 02 8404 2201. Dead. Et cetera et cetera.
There are phone numbers on their homepage on http://www.vrpan.com. They work. I left a message and even got a call back.
What are you exactly after in that blog here? What do you want to achieve with wrong information? That isn’t very helpful.
Also I think this company is not any better or worse than Jamster or anyone else with ringtones. It’s all the same crap. At least with these guys I get 10 items for about $15.
Whatever. Just my opinion.
May 28th, 2006 at 5:16 pm -
Hi MH,
Just wondering why you would make the statement “What do you want to achieve with wrong information? That isn’t very helpful.”
What the hell do you think this person is trying to achieve. My achievement against these companies is that I would like is these shit companies that ring me at 1am and 11pm at night to stop ringing me at these irratic times. I have a sick grandmother and the phone stays on for her not for advertisements. Its illegal to make someone ring you under the Fair Trading Act. Its immoral to people who are phoned when they are trying to sleep.
If your so happy with them why post the message you posted?
If you think its value for money you call them, I dont think its value for money and I dont want anyone who I havent given my phone number out to (home and mobile), to call me whenever the hell they feel like calling.

I cannot believe this, on the very day I stumble across this DC Marketing mobile call scam and the 4WM website, my wife gets a call on her mobile. She returns the “missed call” (02-84042215 number) thinking it may be a work/client only to get the recorded message. I was so annoyed, I whipped off a quick mail demanding immediate reimbursement of the cost of the call or I will lodge an offical complaint with the ACCC.
Also note our mobile number is not listed, given out only to a select few people and has never been publicly revealed; so how they got the number is a complete mystery.
Damn I hate spam but when I pay for it, it really gets my back up. I cannot believe any reputable company spam advertises nowadays, it has so much negative publicity and annoys people so much that regardless of how cheap the advertising might be, it just creates a consumer backlash. I have not and never will by anything advertised by this so called marketing techniques.

I just got a missed call from 02 8404 2215. Didn’t hear the phone ring which is funny!
I looked on the net as I do, hoping to find out if it was a company calling me back for anything. And I found this site.
Bastards. I hope they don’t call again.
Funnily enough, I STUPIDLY changed my phone company from optus to telstra. Signed up with some Telstra prmotion that was official and that i got in the mail that i quickly removed myself from.
That’s it. I’m going to call Telstra.
June 7th, 2006 at 3:17 pm -
yea, i got a ring from 02 8404 2215 yesterday too. didnt hear it ring, and haven’t called it back.
June 9th, 2006 at 1:17 pm -
Im with you on that one Jen…Just received a missed call from that number(02-84042215). Checked the net to see who it was and this site popped up.
I thought it was weird anyone would call at 9.28am.
I didnt call the number but I want a re-imbursement for the invasion of my privacy.
Is there any line of action?
June 9th, 2006 at 1:39 pm -
Anybody know what carrier those numbers being used to make those short calls (missed calls)?
Bet they would like to know that a business is making thousands of effectively free calls and tying up network switching with no intention of connecting the call.
Get them kicked out of the carriers and this will stop.June 9th, 2006 at 4:31 pm -
I got a stupid missed called from 02 8404 2215. My number is not listed.
Damn marketers. Luckily I didn’t call them back
June 10th, 2006 at 12:15 am -
Hi,
I got a missed call from 0284042215 on the 9th of june at 12.41am. my hubby and I woke in the morning to find the missed call and thought it could of been a family member in hospital so rang it and got the competition line. I thought they had to advise you if they are charging you more than the normal phone rate in their recording so it gives you the option of whether or not you want to continue to listen? The only reason that i now know it is a scam is because I have opened the Brisbane Saturday Courier Mail and a story was in there and mentioned this site. I was also contacted by a different number but same thing in February this year and didnt think anything of it.
Thank you very much on your work as I would of never have known and continued to answer their calls.
AmyJune 10th, 2006 at 12:09 pm -
Hi,
They are still using the same number 02 84042215. Today 10 June 2006 at 9:35pm. I’m just studying for my exam and the mobile went of for just 1 ring.
Thanks for the site.
Also, for those that do get charged, there is no real contract between DC Marketing and the caller. There is no service that is agreed upon and no fee that is agreed upon. In fact, as no contract exists between you and DC marketing, they cannot demand payment for something you did not agree to. Simple Contract law.
June 11th, 2006 at 9:42 pm -
The above contact information is correct. A PI friend of mine who got hit, dug a bit deeper as well. DC Marketing is a small company. Also another man behind this is a Peter B Gibbs who lives somewhere in Beecroft in Sydney. He works at a company called TouchStar Pacific Pty Ltd apparently. I looked them up at Silverwater 0297399000. I got hit myself by these scammers. please stop him.

I am considering taking legal action against these people.
Here’s is an excerpt of what I sent them:
I received a phone call from
03 8102 9573
I will be demanding damages for the phone call I returned to you on that number.
The damages claim will be in the region of 30cents.
I will argue that I was duped into calling your 03 number.
I realise you didn’t receive any monies in this instance as Telstra charged me for the call. This is why this will be a damages claim.I will take you to the small claims court of WA for this refund.

5:32 pm on June 13, missed call message from 02 8404 2236 on my home phone answering machine. Not sure if it was sent to my mobile or home phone, as my mobile transfers to my home phone.
Not happy Jan!
I only checked the missed call because I had a telemarketing call (upholstery) tonight, before 7pm, and told the caller to take me off their list. They said my number was in the White Pages and argued with me. I repeated that I did not want telemarketing calls and to put me on their do not call list. They continued to argue with me. I hung up.
A few minutes later I had a phone call from someone asking if I wanted my phone number taken out of the White Pages, saying they were Pauline from Telstra. I was silent and did not respond because it was obvious to me it was a hoax. They eventually started laughing.
Both times it was a woman with an accent, probably Indian, but hard to be sure.
Like everyone else I am sick of these calls - the telemarketing ones and the hoax ones - all of them.
That there is a hoax targeting so many people is even worse - I too have had a relative in hospital and needed to keep the phone free to receive calls.
I only thought of doing a Google search on the number after hearing about the hoax through a university email this week. Thank you to this site and others for making the information available.

Looks like its time for people power.
Lets do a sit in in the foyer of the MLC building.
Stop the online bitching i reckon. Show this scum that the people hate them.We either get together and force these scamers out of town, or shut up and take it. Bitching gets you nowhere.
A show of numbers i reckon. Lets do it.
June 16th, 2006 at 12:27 pm -
They seem to be linked to the changing networks system - as some other comments I have found mentioned - they call shortly asfter you change as I just did from AAPT to Optus….
Have they got hooks in the number porting approbals or data somehow?
June 16th, 2006 at 2:00 pm -
My partner received a call from a number I see has already been mentioned in these comments: 02 8404 2236
We were both sitting beside her phone, and it didn’t even ring.
Thanks to the and 4WM - we didn’t get stung.
I’ll continue to spread the word as loudly as I possibly can.
Thanks guys.

This is for those that ask, how did DC Marketing, or anyone else for that matter, get my mobile number(also applicable to home numbers)?
Fact, (to the best of my knowledge) mobile numbers are somewhere in the range 0400 000 000 to 0499 999 999.
If I had the time I would be able to prank everyone on this forum just by trying all the combinations of numbers within that range.
So, anyone, private or business, can prank or call you.
And as evidence of sequential dialers, in the whirlpool forums where posters of pranked calls put their mobile prefixes in their posts, it is clear that there is a pattern of calls made by DC Marketing.
Really, none of this is rocket science. (pardon the pun)
For the record, I was last pranked on 6th June 2006 at 19:38 Melbourne time to my mobile prefix 0408 by 02 8404 2236.
And I really don’t think it matters which carrier you are with.
June 20th, 2006 at 10:07 pm -
Looks like they are still at it. Just got a 1 second call from 02-8404-2289. Lucky I’d read some of the stuff here first as I’m not going to call it back.
June 21st, 2006 at 1:50 pm -
Same, I had a split second missed call from 02 8404 2239. This is ridiculous. Nice to see 4WM on A Current Affair tho!

Misleading SMS spam messages.
Recieved a text message from 61427880880 stating
“Free Msg: U havent claimed ur prize yet! 2 claim &win up to $10,000 reply with ur code, Code = ur age sex e.g. 25f. stop?re STOP. http://www.vrpan.com help1300795070″
Not only is the message patially unintelligible but it claims that I have won a cash prize which would probally go against gambling restrictions.
The unsubscribe details are written so badly as to not make sense.
I have not won a prize, I have just been another person adversley affected by a greedy, invasive, time-wasting, marketing campaign.
I do not wish to be a part of any of these type of campaigns, they are costing the public a fortune and not achieving anything except making a few rich, semi-illiterate morons even more wealthy !
Please make them stop!
